 What is insert molding process?

Insert molding is the process of putting inserts before injection molding. The finished product of insert molding is a single plastic part  with an insert surrounded by plastic. Inserts can be made of metal or different types of plastics. Insert molding has been applied in many industries, such as insert molding couplings, thread fasteners, filters, electronic and electrical components.

The most advantage of the insert molding is cost-saving.
Insert molding is a highly efficient alternative to the assembly of discrete parts. It enlarges the performance of plastics and helps to reduce product costs by limiting the amount of expensive metals needed to produce products, also it reduces assembly and labor costs, and increasing design flexibility and part reliability.
